How does
the cobu system work?
The cobu system consists of a precise machine component and specially developed single-use components. Together, they enable a contamination-free, reproducible connection between containers and systems.

Prepare
First, the container fitted with the cobuRing is positioned. The ring can then simply be placed on the device to prepare it for secure docking.
Docking
The container docks automatically, while the residual liner is simultaneously ejected with the previous cobuRing and transferred cleanly into the waste port.
Filling & undocking
Once the container is docked, the product transfer begins - absolutely clean, safe and protected from external contamination. The neck of the container is then closed with a crimp, the container is undocked and the remaining liner is stored in the cobuRing.
Wasteport Discharging
The ejected rings in the waste port are reliably separated under containment conditions. Several containers can be produced in succession without having to empty the wasteport immediately - for greater efficiency.
The cobu-equipment
The cobu system connects a wide variety of packaging materials to the process via a standardized interface. To do this, the packaging materials are secured with a cobuRing and reliably docked to the process via a cobuHead.
cobuHead advanced
The cobuHead is designed for the secure docking of packaging containers during filling and emptying processes. This unit enables particularly simple and efficient container handling. During a container change, the used cobuRing, along with the residual liner, is controlled and ejected through the integrated waste port. This reduces the need for manual intervention and allows for efficient execution of successive container changes.
cobuHead basic
The cobuHead is designed for the secure docking of packaging containers during filling and emptying processes. The basic version offers the same interface as the cobuHead advanced in a particularly compact design. When changing containers, the used cobuRing with residual liner is manually pulled into the packaging container and removed via a waste port attached to the container. Although this requires more effort to operate, the cobuHead basic has a significantly lower installation height.
cobuRing
The cobuRing is the central interface of the cobu system. Packaging materials can be assembled directly using a cobuRing and securely docked to a cobuHead. For existing packaging materials, the cobuSleeve enables integration with the cobu system.
cobuSleeve
The cobuSleeve serves as a connector between an existing flexible packaging material and the cobu system. It consists of a connecting ring, a piece of film, and a cobuRing, enabling the packaging material to be securely attached to a cobuHead.
cobuBag
cobuBags are ready-to-use packaging solutions with an integrated cobuRing. Whether it’s an FIBC (big bag), transfer bag, continuous liner, or custom flexible container—the packaging is tailored to the specific application and is ready for immediate use with a cobuHead.
